Myrtle Beach is home to a very different golf course at World Tour Golf Links.  On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we will take a look at what makes World Tour such a different place to play golf.

World Tour was designed by Mel Graham.  His concept was to re-create 18 of the world’s most famous and popular golf holes and put them on one spectacular 18-hole golf course.  Well, he was successful.  Golfers will be treated to golf holes designed after holes from all over the world.  The result is a unique experience that golfers will not find anywhere else.

The Open Nine is full of holes that have been played during either the US Open or The Open Championship.  On the first tee golfers will find themselves looking down a huge rolling fairway as the round starts will No.1 from St. Andrews.  Not a bad way to start a round huh?  After playing replica holes from places like Pinehurst No.2, TPC Sawgrass, Colonial Country Club and English Turn along the way, golfers come back to the clubhouse by playing the 18th hole at St. Andrews.

The Championship Nine is every bit as good.  Taking holes from courses played in all 4 major championships, this side brings some real tough holes into play.  Start with the replica of the 18th hole at Winged Foot and finish with No.11 at. Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill. Oh and play Amen Corner from Augusta National in between.  It is an amazing experience that needs to be had by all golfers that visit Myrtle Beach.  Actually it probably would be good to play it more than once to be honest.

Here is a fun fact.  To actually play all the holes that are portrayed at World Tour Golf Links, golfers would have to travel to six time zones, five countries and cover just under 20,000 miles.  Why do all that when it can be done inside of 4.5 hours on 1 golf cart in the heart of The Golf Capital of the World?  That’s what we thought too.
