The stop for this Tee It Up Grand Strand article is right in the heart of Myrtle Beach as we go to Prestwick Country Club.  This Pete and P.B. Dye design has some of the most beautifully sculpted holes on the beach.  It has the look and feel of an exclusive country club setting but it is not.  This newly fully public golf course is as good as it gets in Myrtle Beach.

A typical Dye course, Prestwick has some very tough bunkering to navigate through the round.  It also has some quirky mounds and rolling fairways that lead into some run-off areas that can be difficult to play out of.  It is a definite test of skill and patience when teeing it up at Prestwick.  Each hole takes some thought and strategy as to what angles to play and what side of the fairway is best to attack the greens from.  Don’t worry.  There are 6 sets of tees to choose from that will help golfers of any skill level to enjoy their round.

As we are deep into the fall golf season, the beautiful scenery around the golf course is starting to change.  The summer flowers are giving way to the fall foliage which in some ways can make it look like almost a totally different golf course. Prestwick is simply a great place to play golf.  With it’s location in the center of the Grand Strand there is no reason to not include it on the list of places to play.  In fact it should be very near the top.
