Crow Creek Golf Club is one of our favorite golf courses and that is where we are heading for this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand.  It is a very fun course to play and provides a challenging yet fair round of golf to golfers of all ages and ability levels.  When we talk about playing golf we always speak from the amateur perspective because that is what we are.  Well, hackers really but we try.

One of the reasons we love Crow Creek is the par 3s are really good golf holes to play.  Not too hard.  Not too easy.  From the white tees (which is what we use when talking yardages) there is nothing over 170 yards which is nice for amateurs.  On each tee box we feel we have a good chance at walking away with par or birdie.Golfers don’t see a par 3 on the front side until hole No.6.  It is a 167 yard hole that probably the toughest of the par 3s.  The tee shot is almost completely over water all the way to the green.  It does however have a large green to land on and a bail out area left of the green that does not leave a hard chip shot if players need to go that way.  Once on the green it is fairly flat with a slight tilt toward the water on the right of the putting surface.  Don’t be a hero off the tee and a par should be gettable here.

The 8th hole is much easier.  There is some water to carry here as well but it is only about 130 yards to the front of the green.  The putting surface is not as big as No.6 but it is receptive to the shorter iron required from the tee.  A good shot should leave a solid chance at birdie.

As we move to the back nine the 13th hole is 131 yards and probably the easiest par 3 on the course.  A straightforward tee shot into a nice sized green complex, golfers should be “on go” and shot for the flag on this one.   Even us hackers have birdie on the mind when we tee it up at No.13.

Finally we get to the 156 yard 16th hole.  Another fairly simple golf hole, with sand traps on the left side protecting the green.  Golfers of not want to miss left.  Once on the putting sureface, the putt should be a simple read on a mostly flat green.  This is a very nice par 3.  A par can be had with a properly place tee ball.
