On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we travel north to Wilmington, North Carolina and Masonboro Golf Club.  The course was designed by renowned architect, Bob Moore.  His design uses the scenic and beautiful natural surroundings and yet, challenges even he best golfers to bring their “A game” when they tee it up.  Opened in 2009 and is already recognized as one of the top public golf facilities in the entire southeast.

With that being said, it is no wonder that Masonboro has quickly become a favorite location for group outings for golfers.  Golf events are a fun and popular way for businesses to entertain clients or to treat their staff.  It can be a tremendous avenue for non-profits to raise money through charity events at the golf courses.  Outings can just be a fun time for a large group of golf buddies that are simply out to have a good time.  No matter the reason for the outing, Masonboro Golf Club is a fantastic setting to host an event.

Why host an outing at Masonboro?  First of all, the location is great.  Just outside Wilmington and near Carolina Beach it is easy to get to.  The package rates are affordable.  Starting at $25/player Masonboro is a tremendous value.  There is lodging close to the golf course too.  For any outings for groups from out of town we have plenty of hotels and rental places just minutes from the golf course. The golf course is the main attraction for any golf event.  The staff works tirelessly to keep the course in fabulous playing conditions 365 days a year.  It is tournament level condition at all times.  The mini verde Bermuda grass greens are as good as they get in the Carolinas.  No golfer will walk away upset with how the course plays.

The layout is outstanding!  At par 71, there are 5 sets of tees to choose from which allows the course to be set up to accommodate any player for any type of tournament or event.  The natural setting of the Cape Fear region makes for an incredible back drop that provides breathtaking views and is sure to have the participants pulling out their smart phones to take pictures of the beauty that surrounds them.  They will also be tempted to get the videos of their team having fun during the event.  After all that is what group events are all about.  At Masonboro Golf Club they want to ensure that every group event has so much fun that the golfers will be chomping at the bit to get back to the courses and play it again.
