With both the University of South Carolina and the University of North Carolina mens basketball teams reaching the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament it is fitting that on this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we visit a golf course that is located in both states.  Farmstead Golf Links is located right on the border of the 2 Carolinas.  Not only does the golf coures stretch into both states but the famed par 6 18th hole starts in South Carolina and finishes in North Carolina.  We have changes to talk about as Farmstead rolls into the 2017 spring golf season.  First things first, we need to introduce the new General Manager, Brad Thompson.  Brad had been on staff at Farmstead as golf shop manager as was recently promoted.  Before working at Farmstead Thompson graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach as co-valedictorian of his class. He holds the associates of applied business degree in golf complex operations and management. He is registered as PGA Apprentice Level 1. Additionally, he holds a BA in biological sciences and chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado.

More exciting news from Farmstead is that the new putting green has opened.  It is located just to the right of the tee box on the 10th hole.  Designed and placed to allow golfers starting their round on the back nine or for those making the turn to practice before starting the home inward side.  The green was designed by Farmstead Golf Links architect David Johnson and built by Shapemaster.  Golfers will find this a wonderful and very useful addition to an already outstanding facility.

It is not too late to take advantage of the amazing golf membership opportunities at Farmstead Golf Links.  Membership privileges include discount golf rates at not only Farmstead but at its sister course Meadowlands Golf Club as well.  There are golf leagues and events for members, as well as discounts in the golf shop and in the bar and grill.  Guests of members receive discounts on their golf round as well.  Memberships start at just $355 per person.  There is also an option to join the Platinum Golf Membership program as well.

There is so much going on at Farmstead Golf Links and the management and staff are excited to welcome golfers to come see things for themselves. For more information or to make a tee time visit the website at www.farmsteadgolflinks.com or call the golf shop at 910.575.7999.
