On this edition of Tee It Up Grand Strand we bring good news from 1 of the oldest golf courses in Myrtle Beach.  Arcadian Shores took a pretty good beating from Hurricane Matthew when it ripped through Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago.  The good news is that since then, PGA Head Professional Frank Coughlin and his amazing staff have been able to get the course back open for play in just over a weeks time.  Incredible effort.

A few years ago management of Arcadian Shores set forth on a large project to liven up the course and give it a little facelift.  During the process that saw rebunkering and fixing of some cart paths, they also removed 800 trees from the grounds.  That is not a typo…800 trees were removed to allow more airflow and sunshine throughout the course which lends to healthier grass and better playing conditions all around.  It has made the golf course look so much better.

Apparently our “friend” Matthew felt a few more trees needed to be removed from the grounds.  That unfortunately caused the course to be unplayable while the cleanup effort took place.  But a herculean effort from the staff didn’t keep Arcadian down long.  It is back open with full tee sheets this fall and is ready to move forward to the rest of the fall golf season and on into the winter months.

Speaking of winter months, now is the time to take advantage of Arcadian Shores Golf Club’s winter play books.  These books contain special offers at Arcadian Shores that are can’t miss deals.  Call the pro shop at 843-449-5217 or stop in and ask about how to get your hands on one.  These books make great Christmas gifts for the golfers on your list or for locals and snowbirds alike that want to play a great golf course that is sure to be in great shape all winter long.  Get yours today!

Be on the watch for our November update from Arcadian Shores.  We will have an update on the building of the brand new clubhouse.  The old 1 has been leveled and we are excited to see what will rise in its place.
